Pair of Late 19th Century Gothic Revival Hall Chairs c.1880

A handsome pair of late 19th Century Gothic Revival oak hall chairs, dating to around 1880-1900. Constructed in solid oak, each chair has a tall architectural back with pierced Gothic tracery decoration, castellated detailing to the upper rail and shaped finials. The solid oak seats have moulded edges and particularly attractive grain. Raised on square legs joined by stretchers, with rounded feet to the front. A decorative and useful pair that would work particularly well as hall, occasional or side chairs in a period or Arts & Crafts influenced interior. Both chairs are in good antique condition with age-related marks, wear and variation to the colour and finish consistent with their age.
