A beautiful late Victorian rosewood aesthetic movement occasional table, dating from around 1885–1900. Featuring an elegant octagonal top with richly figured rosewood veneers, satinwood stringing and crossbanded edging, this versatile antique would make an exceptional lamp table, side table, library table or hallway table. Raised on elegant turned and fluted supports with a shaped lower under-tier and cross stretchers, the design is reminiscent of furniture produced by Lamb of Manchester and James Schoolbred & Co, although the table is unlabelled. Originally designed as an occasional or library table, it is equally suited to modern interiors as a sofa table, reading table or statement side table.
