An elegant late 19th century mahogany astragal glazed bookcase of fine proportions, dating from the Victorian period, circa 1880–1900. Crafted in richly figured mahogany, the cabinet is surmounted by a moulded dentil cornice above a pair of full-height glazed doors with finely detailed astragal glazing bars, opening to reveal a series of adjustable shelves. The slim depth makes it particularly versatile, providing generous display space for books, porcelain, glassware or decorative objects without dominating a room. Raised on shaped bracket feet, the bookcase retains a warm, mellow patina developed through years of careful use. A classic Victorian mahogany bookcase, combining refined architectural detailing with practical storage and display space.
