Item Details
An elegant late 19th century mahogany astragal glazed bookcase of fine proportions, dating from the Victorian period, circa 1880–1900. Crafted in richly figured mahogany, the cabinet is surmounted by a moulded dentil cornice above a pair of full-height glazed doors with finely detailed astragal glazing bars, opening to reveal a series of adjustable shelves.
The slim depth makes it particularly versatile, providing generous display space for books, porcelain, glassware or decorative objects without dominating a room. Raised on shaped bracket feet, the bookcase retains a warm, mellow patina developed through years of careful use.
A classic Victorian mahogany bookcase, combining refined architectural detailing with practical storage and display space.
