A handsome Georgian oak bureau bookcase, early 19th century, constructed in solid oak with good colour and age-consistent patina throughout. The upper section features a pair of fielded panel doors opening to three adjustable shelves, offering generous book or document storage.
Below, the fall-front bureau opens to reveal a fitted interior with small drawers and pigeonholes, ideal for writing materials and personal organisation. The lower section comprises four graduated drawers, each retaining its original-style brass drop handles and escutcheons, providing excellent storage and a pleasing, balanced look.
A classic and practical period piece with elegant proportions, well suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Condition: condition is fair for age with some old repairs. Some locks missing. The bookcase lock has been damaged. You have to pull the door open from the lock hole which is easy to do.
