Early 18th Century Walnut Veneer Chest on Chest (Two-Piece Construction)
A characterful early 18th century walnut-veneered chest of drawers, constructed in two stacked sections for ease of movement. The piece displays attractive feathered and figured walnut veneers throughout, retaining a warm, mellow patina built up over centuries of use.
The chest offers an arrangement of two short over three long drawers, each fitted with period-style brass escutcheons and circular brass pulls. Standing on shaped bracket feet, it has the classic proportions and charm associated with early Georgian cabinetmaking.
This example shows the expected age-related wear, minor veneer losses and shrinkage typical of an antique of this period, but remains solid, honest, and full of character.
