Arts & Crafts Oak Carver Chair

Antique Arts & Crafts Oak Carver Armchair, Late 19th Century An attractive late 19th-century Arts & Crafts oak carver armchair, dating to around the 1890s. Made from solid oak, the chair has a tall slatted back, shaped arms and decorative carved detailing to the upper rail. It has a strong, architectural appearance typical of Arts & Crafts furniture of the period and would work well as a desk chair, occasional chair or decorative statement piece. The chair is structurally usable and has been left with the upholstery exactly as I received it. The existing fabric has age and wear, and for greater comfort I would recommend reupholstering it with additional padding and tightening or replacing the webbing beneath the seat. There are the expected marks, knocks and signs of age associated with an antique chair of this period. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description. Dimensions: Height: 110 cm Width: 52 cm Depth: 48 cm A lovely genuine Arts & Crafts period chair with plenty of character and a particularly attractive oak frame.
