Art Deco Figured Walnut Floor Lamp with Integral Table c.1930

Sold
A striking Art Deco floor lamp dating from the 1930s, combining a standard lamp with a generously proportioned occasional table. Constructed in walnut, the piece features a beautifully figured veneered table top with book-matched grain, framed by contrasting cross-banding and a substantial moulded edge. The tall square-section column rises through the centre of the table and is supported by a broad stepped pedestal base, giving the lamp a strong architectural appearance typical of the Art Deco period. The combination of rich walnut figuring, geometric form and practical table surface makes this a particularly attractive piece for use beside an armchair or sofa. Fitted with a brass bayonet lamp-holder. The lamp is in good overall antique condition, with age-related wear and some minor imperfections consistent with its age. There is a small area of lifting/bubbling to the veneer on the table top, which is visible on close inspection but does not detract significantly from the overall appearance. Material: Figured walnut and walnut veneer Date: circa 1930s A handsome and unusual piece of interwar furniture, with particularly attractive figuring to the table top.
