Item Details
A striking high-backed pine settle featuring beautifully shaped winged sides, a traditional panelled backrest and a practical lift-up seat revealing a generous storage compartment beneath.
Constructed from solid pine, the settle has a wonderfully rustic appearance, with a warm natural finish that highlights the grain, knots and character of the timber.
Although incorporating timber that appears to be of considerable age, the settle is believed to have been constructed or adapted using reclaimed wood at some point in its history. Its design takes inspiration from traditional English country settles, once commonly found in farmhouse kitchens, inns and cottages.
The tall back and sweeping curved sides give the piece an imposing architectural presence, while the hinged seat provides useful concealed storage.
The settle displays plenty of character throughout, including historic marks, scratches, colour variations and general wear, all contributing to its rustic appearance and charm.
A substantial and decorative piece of country furniture, equally suited to a farmhouse kitchen, hallway, boot room or traditional interior.
