Antique Georgian Oak Tilt Top Tripod Table 19th Century 1800-1830

Sold
A handsome late Georgian oak tilt-top occasional table dating to the early 19th century, circa 1800–1830. The circular top is formed from several boards of richly figured oak, displaying particularly attractive grain and medullary figuring throughout. It is raised on a turned central column above three sweeping tripod legs, giving the table an elegant and well-balanced profile. The original-style tilt-top mechanism remains in place beneath, allowing the top to be raised vertically when not in use. The underside retains plenty of age and character, with old construction marks, wear and patination consistent with its period. A very decorative and practical Georgian table, equally suited as a side table, occasional table or small centre table.
